Public Water Supply District No. 1 Announces Land Purchase for Future Second Water Tower

Public Water Supply District No. 1 (PWSD #1) of Jefferson County is pleased to announce the purchase of a new property that will serve as the future site of a second water tower. This critical infrastructure project will significantly increase the water supply for the Arnold community.

The new aerial tank will add up to two million gallons of water storage. This ensures an adequate supply for local residents and businesses for years to come.

The property purchase was completed utilizing funds secured from a Certificate of Participation (COP) loan. It is part of the district’s long-range capital improvement plan, which includes system upgrades, equipment replacement, facility enhancements, and new water storage. These projects are designed to maintain safe, reliable service and ensure capacity during peak demand and emergencies.

The new property is located along the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 at Richardson Road, directly behind the Circle K and McDonald’s.

The district wishes to extend its sincere thanks to State Representative Phil Amato for assisting the district in connecting with Drury Development Corporation to secure the site. The land purchase was unanimously approved by the District’s Board of Directors.
